What is the Sacrement of Reconciliation?
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also known as the ‘Sacrament of Penance’. This is when a person celebrates with the priest and is sorry for the fact he/she has sinned and wants to turn back to God and reconcile with Him. However reconciliation does not always occur in the church but is also linked to our everyday lives where we come across bad choices that can diminish our relationships with God, one self and the community. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is acknowledging what you've done wrong and wanting to turn back to God to strengthen your relationship with him in order to start over. There are many elements in the whole Sacrement of Reconciliation, those including: Sacrament in the history of the church, Three Rites of Reconciliation, the four key elements of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Link of sin to Reconciliation in the time of Jesus but as well as the life we live today. These components will be shown throughout the website.
